philips-sa3100.jpg

At first glance, the Philips SA3100 digital audio player isn’t really something to shout about, but upon closer look at its specifications, one will realize that it supports SMV videos that most of the other players don’t. Other than this ability, the technical specifications are faily standard, ranging from the 1.8″ 65k color LCD display to its integrated FM radio, a voice recorder, and a photo viewer.

Battery life is pretty poor at 10 hours for music and a mere 2 hours for video. Potential buyers will be soothed by the fact that the 1GB SA3114 and 2GB SA3124 aren’t hard hitting on your pocket, retailing for 70 and 100 Euros respectively.

Retro-styled Alpha TV

alpha-tv_48.jpg

Brionvega is the name associated with TV manufacturing since 1945 and they do that with some sort of style. A handful of their TVs and radios have already found a place in design collections and museums. Now, they have a concept TV in their wardrobe dubbed Alpha TV, which has been designed by V12Design. The Alpha TV resembles those of 1960s and 1970s pseudo-futuristic TVs in its looks but boasts of its cutting edge technology.

The chromed steel pipes add to the looks of this retro-styled piece. It comes with a sexy-looking orange color scheme, a DVD player, and a vintage-styled remote that goes well with the TV’s black, orange, or silver color. Although it’s just a concept, but the news in the air says that it will go into production in the very near future. In case, the Alpha TV meets realism, it would be certainly outrun all the earlier models.
