Denon intros new S-52 iPod dock, AT series speakers

Denon has a few new audio offerings as of late, with the S-52 iPod speaker dock firing the opening shot.

It’s also an internet / DAB / FM radio, CD player, and a wireless audio streamer that can stream MP3s, AACs and other formats from a PC. At £500 ($1000+), it’s rather expensive, but you get a lot of bang for your buck. Also new is the AT-SP30BLH speaker set, which couples up with the ID-5 iPod dock. $230, and the duo’s yours: although at only 6 Watts output, you’re probably best looking elsewhere.

Nokia Music Store launches without Warner Music due to file sharing fears

Notice anything missing from the Nokia Music Store launched yesterday? How about Madonna? According to the Wall Street Journal, Warner Music Group — yeah, that guy — is withholding their goods due to concerns with copyright abuse at Nokia. No, not with Nokia’s Music Store but with their seemingly unrelated MOSH (MObile SHaring) file-sharing service. The other three majors — Universal, Sony BMG, and EMI — are all playing nice, however. A Nokia spokesman confirmed the absence stating, “we are hopeful that Warner will be part of Nokia Music Store in the future.” Who knew that Madonna could be used like a big stick?

Roberts Radio Robi DABs up your iPod lifestyle

Roberts Radio Robi DABs up your iPod lifestyle

Look, if you absolutely, positively must get some DAB into your iPod lifestyle, then you’ll probably be somewhat interested in the Robi — a new tuner from Roberts Radio which lets you pipe in smooth digital broadcasts via your regular old player.

There really aren’t a lot of plusses here; for £49.99 (or $100) you get a DAB tuner that also does double duty as a remote. Does this second function justify the cost? Probably not, considering all those extra cables and unsightly middleman, but if you’ve got a bad desire for digital radio, you could do a lot worse (you could also consider players with built in DAB functionality). Available now, it would appear.
