Transcend unveils T.sonic 650 DAP

Transcend certainly seems intent on keeping its T.sonic line of digital audio players well fleshed out, with it recently adding yet another model in the form of the T.sonic 650. Like all the company’s other DAPs, this one’s a flash-based player (packing 4GB, specifically), and it includes all the features you’d expect in a unit of this sort, including an FM tuner, an OLED screen, and support for MP3, WMA, and WMA-DRM10 file formats. Slightly less common is a so-called “Voice Activation Detection” function, which we presume is exactly what it sounds like. No word on a price just yet, but we wouldn’t expect it to put too much of a hurt on your bank account.

PA-40Ti Hybrid power amplifier / iPod dock by Lars & Ivan

We’ve no qualms with a manufacturer thinking outside of the box in order to differentiate its iPod docking station from the myriad competitors, but Lars & Ivan’s PA-40Ti takes it one step beyond customization.

This Hybrid power amplifier / iPod dock sports a design that SNL’s Nuni and Noony are sure to adore, and features a total output of 40-watts RMS, a frequency response of 22Hz - 22kHz, signal-to-noise ratio of 67dB, four-channel input selector (phono / CD / aux / iPod), a headphone jack and a dedicated subwoofer output. Additionally, this thing includes video out and a remote control, and while it will run you a stiff €233 ($341), your collection of industrial metal will be totally in love.

Meizu’s M6SL portable media player finally in market now

Those twiddling their thumbs while they wait (not so) patiently for Meizu’s M6SL can finally put their digits to better use, as the aforementioned PMP is finally available for your enjoyment. Just to bring you back up to speed, you’re looking at a 2.4-inch QVGA display, USB connectivity, black or white motifs and versions that house 2GB, 4GB and 8GB of capacity. The pain? $108, $130 and $164, respectively. Check a few more snapshots after the break.

Ixing’s TM-M1 MP3 player

Ixing’s TM-M1 MP3 player

When you call yourself “nano,” you’d be wise to prepare for the onslaught of throne seeking waifs. In from stage Seoul comes this 5.6-mm slimster, the TM-M1 from Ixing. That’s nearly 1-mm thiner than the iPod nano — less than a quarter-inch thin. Announced at the IFA show, the TM-M1 is now available in 1, 2, and 4GB capacities with built-in FM radio (and recording). The 10-hour battery with 2-hour charge is pretty lackluster however, and that 1.5-inch, 65k color OLED won’t win any awards either. Still, it’s fracking thin and that has to count for something, right? Priced at about $100 for 2GB if you can track these down outside of S.Korea.

Act-429 PMP puts on a RAZR2 act

Act-429 PMP puts on a RAZR2 act

Another unimaginative PMP for you this weekend, which happens to vaguely rip-off the design of the RAZR2.

Nope, this doesn’t have a phone stuck inside: it’s simply a regular little PMP that features a 2-inch screen and controls that mimic the look of Motorola’s flagship. It also has an FM tuner, a speaker — hey, at least you could pretend that this is a speakerphone — and e-Book and gaming “functionality.” Don’t expect to see this in your local Wal-Mart anytime soon.
