Don’t pretend that you’ve “thrown away” or “misplaced” your old iPod nano / Shuffle case — we know you Apple folk respect Cupertino’s packaging just as much as what’s inside (we kid, we kid). If you just so happen to have the case that your first- or second-generation nano / second- or third-generation Shuffle came in, Bird Electron’s EZ17-B speaker will give it a new reason for hanging around. Apparently, the speaker simply slips into the old case and gets its power from whatever DAP you attach to it. ‘Course, this leads us to believe that you won’t be rockin’ any after-prom parties with just one of these bad boys, but it should do the trick in the backseat of a car. Still, we’ve got better things to do with $39.99 than spend it on this, but to each his / her own, right?

Sure, there’s a smorgasbord of products out there designed to transfer your precious vinyl recordings to a slightly more modern format, but few pack the cool factor that comes bundled in gratis with Numark’s TTi. This newfangled turntable not only brings back not-so-fond memories of your second high school prom, but it also boasts an integrated iPod dock, USB interface, a metal platter and pitch control to boot. Besides ripping records directly to your ‘Pod, the unit also features a line-level output and comes with versions of EZ Vinyl Converter software for the PC or Mac should you prefer vinyl-to-computer ripping. We know, it’s tough to leave the 70s, but the TTi should make the transition somewhat less painstaking when it lands in Q2 for $449. One more angle’s waiting after the break.

It’s been a good while since the BlueStreamer was hit up with a well deserved update, but those who’ve been waiting in tense anticipation can finally kick their shoes off and relax. Yep, Jays is indeed announcing the aptly-named BlueStreamer 2 Bluetooth stereo adapter, which not only features BT v2.0 and supports A2DP, AVRCP, HSP and HFP, but it’s available in a trio of glossy motifs (black, white and pink to be precise). Weighing in at just 12-grams, this bugger allows users to “listen to music and receive calls simultaneously,†and just in case that whole “stopping the jams ’til your convo is done†thing wasn’t enough for you, it’s also very compatible with Skype. Sure, there’s nothing out of the ordinary here, but those captivated for whatever reason can grab one now for $62 (or €42.40 elsewhere).

Don’t feel bad if the iAudio U5 hasn’t creeped into your mind since it “debuted†at IFA last September — it’s not like Cowon’s doled out any sort of marketing blitz to keep us intrigued. Nevertheless, this somewhat stylish little DAP is apparently making its way to the US of A for those who like to avoid the me-too crowd. Specs wise, you’ll find a 1.8-inch 160 x 128 resolution LCD, up to a full day of battery life, 4GB / 8GB of internal memory, MP3 / WMA / WAV playback, a built-in FM radio and voice recorder, user adjustable five-band EQ and USB connectivity. Good enough for you? Cough up $149.99 / $109.99 to snag one in 8GB or 4GB, respectively.

We’ve no qualms with seeing yet another iPod dock that upscales material to HD, but it seems Creative got a bit too rambunctious when penning its press release for the Xdock HD. Contrary to its claims, the aforementioned device actually isn’t the first to do what it does. ‘Course, it may have a point with the whole “upscaling your audio to X-Fi Xtreme Fidelity,†so we’ll just consider it a wash. Nevertheless, this bugger connects to your home theater system via HDMI, component or composite and relies on analog / optical outputs for audio. It also outputs an HD interface, comes with a remote and has the ability to “distribute music throughout your home to X-Fi Wireless Receivers up to 100 feet away without requiring a wireless network.†Unfortunately, the Xdock HD (bundled with one X-Fi Wireless Receiver) will set you back nearly four bills, but you can look for it later this Spring if it tickles your fancy.
