Nokia’s 7900 Crystal Prism is now really, extra-super official

Eww, it’s back. Nokia’s 7900 Crystal Prism is now really, extra-super official with a scheduled Q1 2008 launch for €375 (before taxes and subsidies). Besides sporting a slight redesign from that earlier pic, we now know that the 7900 packs WCDMA 2100/850 in addition to those quad-GSM bands, 2-inch OLED, and 2 megapixel CMOS camera. But really, this one’s all about the look created by designer Frédérique Daubal. Yeah, us neither. “Renowned” enough for Nokia though, just not the 9.4 million pages of Wikipedia. See her “dress for tired people” after the break to see where this could have gone.

Maria Sharapova Becomes Sony Ericsson Brand Ambassador

Sony Ericsson announced that it has signed Maria Sharapova to an exclusive four year sponsorship, becoming the company’s first global brand ambassador. Maria, who turns 21 in April this year, will be working with Sony Ericsson’s design team on a range of products and accessories. Additionally, she will undertake consumer brand campaigns designed to engage Sony Ericsson’s core target audiences.

The off-court agreement complements Sony Ericsson’s 6 year $88 million global title sponsorship of the WTA Tour which was signed in January 2005.

Commenting on the announcement, Dee Dutta, Corporate Vice President and Head of Marketing at Sony Ericsson, said: “Now in our seventh year as a company, the brand has evolved significantly and securing a global brand ambassador is a natural progression to take our brand to the next level in an increasingly competitive market place.”

Maria Sharapova added, “Even though most people know me as a tennis player, I have so many passions beyond the sport like fashion, music, film and design; which Sony Ericsson and I are going to be exploring together through our partnership.”

The black Samsung F700

And it’s coming to Vodafone Spain. We’re not sure why only Vodafone would think that a white version of the F700 is such a great idea (’cause it is), so we’re kinda hoping Verizon takes note.

Sprint prepped to 5 megapixel Samsung SPH-M800

Samsung is on a roll this morning, though this isn’t as official as the SGH-F490 announced a few minutes ago, but the branding suggest this will show up at Sprint. Sadly, the word is that the 5 megapixel cam found in the F490 has been replaced here with a 2 megapixel shooter, but it does rock EV-DO, and for that we give thanks. No word on when this’ll appear or how much it’ll cost, but we expect we’ll hear more soon.

Jabra intros luxury JX20 Pura Titanium Edition

Jabra launched this sleek thing at CES this week, with a body crafted from Titanium and glossy black accents, it is definitely looking the business. This new offering was designed by Jacob Jensen, the same fella who created Jabra’s JX10 headset — though this venture has way less gold. The device’s specs are posted as having up to 6-hour talk time, Bluetooth 2.0, auto pairing, USB charging — this is a must in our opinion — a couple ear hooks , and a goodly assortment of ear gels. Though, with an MSRP of $179, we’re thinking this will find its way onto a limited collection of ears.
