Lenovo’s new Thinkstation line

We got all the specs on Lenovo’s new Thinkstation line earlier today, but pics of the new S10 and D10 case design just landed in our inbox and we’ve got to say, it looks pretty slick. Sure, that handle doesn’t seem like it’ll be all too useful, but compared to Lenovo’s last attempt at advanced design, this thing is positively restrained. Check one more pic after the break.

New Sony UX model available, comes with nice extras

Sony’s released a new model to its “Micro PC” line in the $2499 VGN-UX490N/C. Upgrades over the previous UX390 include a Core 2 Solo processor, 48GB SSD flash drive, the inclusion of an extended battery along with the standard battery, and a Bluetooth GPS receiver.

Other features include 2-built in cameras, wireless WAN (EDGE), 1GB RAM (not expandable), and a 4.5-inch touch screen (1024×600 resolution).

Alone, the GPS receiver and extended battery would cost an additional $500 so the fact that this new system costs only $150 more than the UX390 (which doesn’t include an extended battery or GPS unit) makes for a pretty good deal.

Tritton intros USB-to-DVI adapter with UXGA support

Tritton intros USB-to-DVI adapter with UXGA support

Oh, how far we’ve come. Just 2.5-years after Tritton unveiled an adapter that enabled users to run a VGA-equipped display at 800 x 600 via USB, Sewell is offering up a USB-to-DVI converter that actually supports UXGA (that’s 1,600 x 1,200 for those counting).

In a package no larger than a deck of cards, this thing houses some 256MB of RAM, supports up to six simultaneous displays (requires six adapters, obviously) and even plays nice with Windows Vista (sorry, Leopard fanatics). There’s also a DVI-to-VGA adapter thrown in just so your bases are covered, and so long as you’re running a rig made within the last few years and have a USB 2.0 port (or six) to spare, you’re in business. Well, after you cough up $149.95 to claim one for yourself, that is.

Western Digital’s 320GB Scorpio SATA drive

Western Digital’s 320GB Scorpio SATA drive

It’s not the first to boast of a 320GB 2.5-inch hard drive, but Western Digital looks to be the first to actually ship one, with its new 320GB Scorpio SATA drive now available to anyone with a hankering for some spacious portable storage.

In addition to cramming all those gigabytes into a laptop-friendly package, the drive is also said to be “one of the quietest 5400 RPM, 2.5-inch drives available,” with WD’s trademark WhisperDrive and IntelliSeek technology promising to keep the noise down and the power consumption to a minimum. Those looking to swap out their old drive for this one can expect to pay an even $200, although you can be sure you’ll be seeing it as a pre-installed option before too long as well.

Saitek unveils a new Cyborg gaming mouse

Saitek’s got a new gaming mouse for those in need of a little more precision than your standard off-the-shelf model, with its new Cyborg mouse cranking the dpi all the way up to 3200.

That, of course, can be dialed back to accommodate various mousing tasks, and you’ll get a good number of non-standard mouse features as well, including a programmable four-way hat switch, and two extra buttons that can be set up however you like. While there still doesn’t seem to be any official word on a release, Gizmos.es points out that Amazon UK currently has it listed with a release date of January 11th and a list price of £40 (or $83), although it can be had for £30 (or just over $60) at moment.
