The Epson Endeaver NJ2050 low-cost laptop is using Microsoft’s Windows XP Home Edition operating system and boasts a 1.73GHz Celeron processor, 40GB hard drive, and 256MB of RAM. Unfortunately, this laptop has only a standard CD-ROM drive. It’s a great laptop for those who don’t need those expensive notebooks with high specs. The Epson NJ2050 retails for around $590.

 Samsung R55 HDD laptop comes equipped with a 1.66 GHz Intel Centrino Core Duo T2300E Processor, 1GB of RAM, a 100 GB Hard Drive and a DVD Dual Layer Drive which can read DVDs and CDs and write CDs, DVD+, DVD- and large Dual Layer DVD. Other features include 15.4 inch WXGA Widescreen TFT Screen with SuperClear Technology, NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 256 MB dedicated graphics, Integrated 6 -in-1 card reader, wireless 802.11 a/b/g LAN and Bluetooth. Pricing is still in mystery.

 

By the end of the month (April 28th) the new versions (6) of Winbook WH by SOTEC will be available in Japan at a starting price of 89.900 yen (560 Euros/760 USD).

For this amount of money the offer is named “WH3313″ and comes with Windows VISTA Home Basic installed on a 80GB HDD, a VIA VN896 chipset with built-in video function, 15.4 inches screen (1280×800), kindly powered by a Celeron M430 CPU and 512MB of RAM (can be upgraded up to 2GB). Pretty nice isn’t it ?

If you have 104.800 yen (660 Euros/900 USD) there is the “WH3513P” and Home Premium instead of Basic and 1GB of RAM instead of 512MB.
All are equipped with USB2 (x4), Express Card, WIFI IEEE 802.11 a/b/g, LAN, Ethernet and most of what you can expect on that particular part. The autonomy is announced at 1.5 hour.

On the top of the list is the “WH3513PC” with similar specifications plus Power Point 2007 and Office Personal 2007 and a price of 134.800 yen (850 Euros/1150 USD). Of course these are the prices in Japan !

Last thing you might need to know ? The dimensions (358×263×36mm) and weight (2.6kg).

 

Fujitsu seems to be keeping up a steady pace with its convertible tablet PCs these days, introducing another pair of new ultralight models for those willing to accept a few trade-offs in favor of portability. The processor looks to be the biggest difference between the two models here, with the P70WN packing a Core Solo U1400 processor and the P50WN opting for a Celeron M443 instead. Otherwise, each will give you the same 8.9-inch touchscreen with a 1280×768 resolution, and between 60 and 80GB of hard drive space, with the whole thing barely weighing you down at about 2.2 pounds. Unfortunately, there’s no word on pricing or availability, although we suspect it’ll be spending some time in Japan before the rest of us can get our hands on it.
