Honda………WOW

November 3rd, 2007 admin Posted in Auto Staff No Comments »

Everyone knows the family pet is the most spoiled “child” in any household. They get their food served to them at their level, they have their own cushy pillow right by the fireplace and now thanks to Honda, they even have a carseat built specially for them
.

Honda………WOW

WOW stands for Wonderful Open-hearted Wagon. It is uniquely designed to provide total comfort to you and you pets while out for a ride.

The interior sports wood grain flooring and accents to help mans best friend feel right at home. It also features a hide-away crate in the instrument panel in front of the passenger seat. When opened a smaller pet can ride right at your side. The crate is surrounded on 3 sides with soft mesh for ample breathing and also has a flexible tube positioned to supply fresh air to your copilot

Seating is also designed around the larger canines. The WOW can seat up to 6 passengers when all seats are installed. If needed, 2 seats can be removed to form a large crate to provide comfort and safety for larger breed animals.

The vehicle was also designed with a very low center of gravity so your pets won’t shoot from side to side everytime you take a turn. It also has 2 swing doors in the rear and a path to walk all the way to the front without climbing over seats.

Honda has done it again with another interesting (and strange) concept car. There is really only one way to capture the feeling toward this new pet friendly vehicle:……WOW

Nissan Pivo2

Nissan Pivo2

The 2007 Tokyo Motor Show ended last week, but today we’re cleaning out our closet of yet-to-be published posts from this biggest of biannual Japanese auto shows.

After a few days of regurgitating the same old story to the world’s press, company PR men are apt to let little gems slip as fatigue and boredom set in. This year’s classic comes from a Nissan PR man, who for the sake of his career, shall remain nameless.

The Pivo 2, replete with an R2D2 like co-pilot and wheels that can twist 90 degrees to the car’s axis, was “designed with urban females in mind, as they have bad senses of direction and are not so good at driving.” His words, not ours.

Five Axis unveils Five AD at the 2007 SEMA Show

Wheels are like shoes for your car (deep, huh?), as they come in a wide variety of colors and styles, plus they are easy to change dependent on your tastes and budget.

Unfortunately not every wheel company seems to produce original designs and even if they do it doesn’t mean they’re pretty. That is where Five Axis fits in. Riding on the success of their Scion concept vehicles, the design house known for its coachbuilt concepts has just unveiled its new line of wheels dubbed Five:AD at the 2007 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. The light weight aluminum alloy wheels were displayed on the Five Axis Toyota Yaris Club, Lexus IS-F and Scion xB concept vehicles. The complete wheel lineup consists of five designs available in multiple finishes that are all as unique as this company’s corporate-sponsored fantasy cars. The sizes range from 17- to 20-inches and feature bolt patterns available for almost any application. See the complete press release after the jump.

Orange Gemballa Mirage GT

sema07_gemballa_4501.jpg

The folks at H&R had this Gemballa Mirage GT sitting in their area at SEMA, and even though it was real orange, it was real purty. We’ll take an orange Gemballa, however, over a glitter one any day.

Unfortunately, although there was an H&R logo on the hood, no one at the booth could tell us anything about it. With the added carbon fiber bits over the “regular” Mirage, it looks to be a Black Edition Mirage: check out the carbon fiber inserts in the side skirts, the carbon fiber struts for the mirrors, and the black strip of CF weave in the hood. And those afterburner exhaust tips? Oh yeah. Check it all out in the gallery of hi-res pics.
