Verizon Wireless Expands VZ Navigator Features
Verizon Wireless today introduced new features for its VZ Navigator service. With time-saving tools like Place Messaging, a new VZ Navigator Web site, and the ability to synchronize searches from the Web site to VZ Navigator-capable phones, customers now have even more help to get where they are going.
With Place Messaging, a customer can send directions to others through VZ Navigator’s new Messages option. For example, users making dinner plans can send the restaurant’s location to friends, opening up VZ Navigator on their phone, so they can navigate to the destination, map it and save it to their Favorites folder. The message will automatically be sent as a standard TXT Message to recipients with phones that do not subscribe to VZ Navigator.
With the new companion Web site for VZ Navigator (www.vznavigator.com), customers can now search for a location on their desktop or laptop, save locations in their Favorites folder and recall locations from their Recent Searches folder, all retrievable later right on their own phones. Plus, customers are able to send Place Messages from their computer to their phone, to other customers or to any email address.
With the new synchronization feature on VZ Navigator, users can sync their Recent Searches and Favorites folders on the VZ Navigator Web site with those folders on their phone. The network automatically detects if folders need to be synced and asks customers if they want to perform the action now or at a later time.
Verizon Wireless customers already using VZ Navigator can get a free upgrade that gives them access to the new features. VZ Navigator is available for $9.99 for unlimited monthly access or $2.99 for one-day use.
