Verizon Wireless today announced the planned release of the LG VX8700, available online at beginning April 6 and in stores April 17.
Highlighted by an ultra-thin shape, sleek metal finish, and mirror-like screen, the LG VX8700 offers multimedia features such as access Verizon Wireless’ VCAST Music and Video, Get It Now and Mobile Web 2.0.
The LG VX8700 complements its entertainment capabilities with mobile features that consumers have come to expect, featuring VCAST for music and video, Bluetooth capabilities, a 2.0-megapixel camera and camcorder, and a microSD memory port for storage.
Fom music lovers, Verizon Wireless customers can download from a selection of more than 1.5 million songs in the VCAST Music library and listen to the latest hits right on their phones. The external microSD memory card slot allows customers to easily move their music from their computers directly to the phones. In addition, customers pair the LG VX8700 with a Bluetooth stereo headset for a wireless music experience.

LG Electronics and Google today announced a global collaboration to pre-install Google’s services on millions of LG mobile phones. Mobile users around the world will now be able to easily search for information, find locations, update blogs and manage email while on the move.
Select LG handsets, pre-installed with Google products and services will be shipped globally including North America, Europe and Asia starting in the second quarter of 2007. These handsets will create a more dynamic user experience, including one click access to Google search through an icon in the application menu. More features of LG-Google handsets include:
- Google Maps for mobile, an application that enables users to view maps and satellite imagery, find local businesses, and get driving directions
- Gmail for mobile, a Java-based application that brings more speed, convenience and functionality to the mobile Gmail experience
- Blogger Mobile, an application to upload/download images and text to blog from mobile devices, keeps avid bloggers upwardly mobile
Through this new partnership, LG and Google will jointly market LG-Google handsets, then further extending their collaboration to develop digitalized home in the future. LG plans to launch mobile handsets pre-installed with Google and products and service for the next few years with at least ten new handsets in 2007. Google and Samsung announced a similar partnership last January.

Nokia today revealed the Nokia 5700 XpressMusic, a 3G smartphone augmented by a dedicated audio chip for enhanced music performance. The 5700 features a twist design that switches between four modes at the flick of the wrist - music player, 2.0-megapixel camera, video call and smartphone.
Using an optional 2 GB microSD card, the Nokia 5700 supports up to 1500 tracks that can be enjoyed using Bluetooth stereo headphones, with their own favorite 3.5 mm plug-equipped headphones and the included headset adaptor or through built-in stereo loudspeakers. Loading songs onto the 5700 is fast and easy as consumers can choose from a broad range of supported digital formats, including WMA, MP3, AAC, as well as eAAC+ and MP4. When purchasing music online, shoppers can select from a range of Internet music stores, also those utilizing Windows Media Player Digital Rights management (WMDRM). The optimized music player in the 5700 supports album art, playlists, plus a 5-band equalizer and audio visualizations.
The Nokia 5700 brings videos to life on a vibrant color screen supporting up to 16 million colors for excellent video playback. With 3G high-speed data connectivity, the 5700 makes browsing, downloading and streaming multimedia content more convenient and faster than before. A video call feature and the built-in 2.0-megapixel camera make it easy to share moments with friends and family.
The Nokia 5700 is based on S60 software running on Symbian OS. S60 enables consumers to personalize their device with a wide choice of compatible applications that can be downloaded to the 5700, including games, navigation, entertainment, productivity and creativity.
Combining the benefits of a music-oriented, multipurpose device featuring 3G dataspeeds, the Nokia 5700 is expected to retail for an estimated EUR 350 before taxes and subsidies during the second quarter of 2007.

Inspired by the L’Amour Collection, the Nokia 7088 make its debut today, bringing sophistication to the CDMA market. The Nokia 7088 is not only the first CDMA model in the popular L’Amour Collection, but it is also the first to apply this collection’s design to a sliding configuration.
The Nokia 7088 draws attention to its jewel-like select key and sculpted directional keypad set into a metallic frame. Leather-inspired textures are found on front and back surfaces of the 7088, further accentuating the balance between technology and nature.
A dedicated key makes it easy to activate the integrated video recorder and camera with LED flash, allowing captured images and video clips to be enjoyed on the large 128 x 160 px color display. A two-way speakerphone, voice recorder and calendar feature make the 7088 productive, while the built-in mobile browser can be used to access information on the go.
The Nokia 7088 is expected to be available in selected markets in Asia/Pacific, Middle East, Africa, China and Latin America during the 2nd quarter of 2007.

Nokia today announced the 5070, featuring messaging features via text, voice and images.The built-in VGA camera can snap pictures of friends, weekend trips or any of life’s amusing moments and then share via MMS. When a voice messaqe is more convenient, the 5070 offers the option to send off voice messages via Nokia Xpress Audio Messaging. With just a few keystrokes, friends’ contact information can be accessed and messages composed and delivered.
With an integrated FM radio, tuning into radio channels in town is quick and easy. If a game is more appropriate, pre-installed Java games such as the widely popular Sudoku can be found. With a built in web browser, surfing the web and checking sports results or movie timetables is also possible.
MP3 ringtones are at hand to ensure that each time it rings, the Nokia 5070 can reflect its owner’s style, mood or music taste. Additionally, a variety of wallpapers and themes can also be downloaded to give the Nokia 5070 even more of a personalized touch.
The Nokia 5070 has talk time up to 3.5 hours and the standby time is up to 12 days and is available in red or blue. The Nokia 5070 will be available in the second quarter of 2007 with an estimated retail price of EUR 100 excluding taxes and subsidies.
